“Show initiative and interest, and don’t be afraid to ask questions if anything is unclear.”

Tobias Sand
From production assistant to machinist
“Show initiative and interest, and don’t be afraid to ask questions if anything is unclear.”

Tobias Sand initially joined Conal as a production assistant in assembly. It was there that he discovered his interest in CNC and machining technology. When the opportunity to do an apprenticeship arose, he didn’t take long to make up his mind. During his apprenticeship, he was given plenty of freedom to work on his own projects while receiving the support he needed from his trainer. A particular highlight for him was building a miniature vice, which allowed him to put what he had learnt into practice. Today, Tobias looks back on an apprenticeship that helped him develop both professionally and personally. “I was able to develop a solid technical understanding and gain a good overview of the company’s processes and how its different areas work together.” His three words for Conal: “relaxed, modern, collaborative.”
